Working With Me
Most framing decisions get made without the most important input: the actual space. A showroom can't tell you what your light does, how your walls read, or whether a piece can hold its own in a room full of people.
Three decades ago I made an unconventional choice that became the foundation of how I work — the best framing decisions happen in the space where the art will actually live.
My Approach
Advice, Not Just Options
Good framing decisions start long before a frame is selected.
More than 35 years in commercial framing has taught me to evaluate materials, light, longevity, and how a space is used to recommend solutions that perform as well as they look.
If something won't work, I'll tell you.
The Full Scope, Handled
From on-site consultation to final installation, I manage every step of your project.
Whether you need artwork sourced, existing pieces framed, or a complete installation, you'll have one relationship and one point of contact.
That means no gaps between what gets framed and what gets hung.
Local by Design, Built for Community
Strong local relationships make better projects possible.
I've spent decades building a network of trusted creative and production partners across East Central Indiana.
Whenever possible, I keep projects local — strengthening the community while delivering the quality my clients expect.
My Process
-
When I arrive, I read the environment. The light source, the wall surfaces, the scale, the colors already present, how formal or relaxed the space needs to feel.
Every one of those things informs what will work and what will not before we have talked about a single framing option. -
Once I have a feel for the space, I want to know what you need it to do. Do you want art that commands attention or art that settles quietly into the background and puts people at ease? Is this an environment where people linger or one they move through quickly?
Those are different briefs and they lead to different decisions about everything from art selection to frame finish to how the work is arranged on the walls. -
There’s more variance in commercial framing than most clients expect, and the differences are not always obvious at the sample stage. The type of glass, the frame material, the matboard, whether the piece should be dry mounted — these decisions affect how the finished work looks, how long it holds up, and how it reads in the scale of a commercial space.
I walk you through the options that make sense for your environment and your budget before anything’s quoted.
-
Installation is where everything comes together. I coordinate the timing around your space, whether the business is open or closed during the process, and I am mindful of staff and anyone else in the environment while we work.
For large installations, I rent a truck and transport the art myself. That is not a logistical footnote. It’s how I make sure nothing arrives damaged and nothing gets lost between my shop and the wall.
